Ultrasonography is a medical procedure that uses sound waves to generate images on a screen.
In veterinary medicine it is a valuable tool in identifying signs of internal pathology and disease that may not be evident external.
Our hospital is equipped with an in-house ultrasound scanner to assist in the diagnosis of your pet’s condition. We also have access to a sonographic specialist who operates out of the hospital in more complicated cases.
Your veterinarian will discuss your pet’s case with you and conduct a full physical exam prior to making the recommendation for ultrasonography if it is required.
Some common conditions that may require ultrasonographic images include:
- Chronic Gastrointestinal Disease
- Kidney & Bladder Disease
- Heart Disease
- Liver Disease
