A microchip is an electronic tracker about the size of a grain which is implanted under your pet’s skin.
The microchip number is unique to your pet and is the best form of permanent identification.
This microchip number is then linked to the owner contact details including address, phone number and person to contact in an emergency.
If your pet becomes lost and is brought in to a vet or the local council, these details are retrieved to efficiently return your lost animal.
It is essential that you keep your contact details up to date and update your details on the relevant pet register should you move or change phone numbers.
