Dentistry

Dogs and cats only get one set of adult teeth in their lifetime, so it’s important that we look after them! Periodontal disease is one of the most common conditions seen amongst domestic dogs and cats across all veterinary clinics. Studies have shown that up to 80% of dogs and 70% of cats over three years of age have some degree of disease.

At Balwyn Veterinary Surgery our staff are highly experienced at identifying the early signs of periodontal disease and offering the most up to date advice in order to treat, and prevent, further progression.

Should your pet have signs of more advanced periodontal disease, we are able to perform safe, fast and atraumatic dental procedures in house. We are equipped with a state-of-the-art ultrasonic scaling device, as well as a number of tools designed to make extractions, should they be necessary, as quick and as painless as possible.
